Genelia D'Souza was born in Mumbai. Genelia grew up in Mumbai and identifies herself as a Mangalorean Catholic. Genelia studied at Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai. She joined St. Andrews College, Bandra to pursue her Bachelor's Degree of Management Studies.
Other than doing films, she was also a state level athlete and a national level soccer player.
